EPA Tables

Effective Projected Area (EPA) is the total surface area of various accessories (such as banners and lights) that a light pole can support at a given wind speed.

To determine if your selected pole will work for your project, you must consider the light pole’s total EPA and the wind speed of the project location.

At General Structures, Inc., we provide an EPA table that includes ratings up to 180mph based on 2020 FBC / ASCE-7, AASHTO LFRDLTS-1, or 2013 AASHTO LTS-6 specifications. This resource is intended to help you quickly find the information you need to select the right pole for your next lighting job.
